As I sat at my desk staring at the screen, I felt like I was joining the elite rank of IT administrators that had come before me. I stared confused, overwhelmed, and just plain baffled at the fact that someone intentionally designed the CRM platform we were using to be the hardest thing in the world to figure out. There was nothing easy about it! Even simple tasks would take an hour of googling and more clicks than necessary to figure out. Not to mention trying to incorporate our unique program data into the structure of the already confusing system. There was no way we were going to get anywhere with the software.
That was the day we decided to make the switch. After knocking our heads against the wall, talking with the leadership of the current software company, and exhausting every possible option to make it work, we knew we needed a new platform to help us grow and deepen our impact rather than one that prevented it. The research and evaluation process quickly brought Salesforce CRM to the top of the short-stack. We explored the functionality, security, flexibility, and most importantly the room for growth. Salesforce was the number one solution in all of those categories.
“We had developed a vision of how much better
our data would be years down the road.”
A decision to change our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system doesn’t come easily. With the decision made, we embarked on an eight-month journey that would result in what was just the beginning of a growing system. Transitioning CRM systems is like open-heart surgery for an organization. Taking the organization’s most crucial information and moving it from its current home can be nerve-racking, stressful, and can even put the best of friends at ends with each other. The vision we had in our heads throughout the transition was much more than an eight-month plan though. We had developed a vision of how much better our data would be years down the road. This project would open up so many doors that would never be accomplished with the old system.
As I look back on that transition six years ago I can very confidently say that was the best decision the organization had made for its data. Since that transition, we implemented SMS giving, Event Management, College Course Registration, apps specific to program goals, and many other apps within the Salesforce platform. We even explored and implemented email marketing through Salesforce’s integrated Pardot platform. With Salesforce’s rapid enhancements to the platform and well build system, we were able to work with our data in a way that was revolutionary.
“…we want to help your organization be freed from your restricting software and have the flexibility you deserve with your data.”
Organizations rely so heavily on the data they collect that being limited by the functions of the technology shouldn’t happen in today’s world. We have options! You have options! Our passion here at Adaptive Cause is to help organizations feel the same freedom in their software as we did when the organization moved to Salesforce. After spending six years learning the ins and outs of the Salesforce platform we want to help your organization be freed from your restricting software and have the flexibility you deserve with your data.
We take every Salesforce implementation and project seriously. Every organization has its own priorities and objectives so we work one on one with your internal project team (even if that’s just one person) to help identify those objectives, set priorities, and clearly work through your transition at a pace that you’re comfortable with. At the end of the day, we feel the most accomplished when you’re looking at your completed project and feeling like that was the best decision you’ve ever made.
